Rhizinate is deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) in a chewable formula for soothing digestive relief.*

The stomach maintains an acidic pH that helps to initiate digestion and promote microbial defense, yet its epithelial tissues must simultaneously be shielded against harsh acidic conditions. The stomach's protective mucin barrier must be intact in order to protect stomach health and comfort. Patients who experience an occasional discomfort after consuming coffee, spicy or fried foods may benefit from supplementing with a plant-based agent such as deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), which has been shown in animal studies to support the mucosal lining of the stomach and intestines.*

Rhizinate is DGL in a chewable formula. Rhizinate works by stimulating natural protective factors in the digestive tract that help relieve occasional stomach discomfort.* Rhizinate contains less than 1% glycyrrhizin which may elevate blood pressure in some individuals.

  • A. The source of fructose is from a variety of plant sources, including corn. There are no identifiable corn proteins present in the material. The material undergoes extensive purification processing, including extraction and filtration steps that remove all corn proteins generally associated with allergies. For individuals who are severely sensitive to corn, we would suggest consulting their licensed health care professional prior to use.

  • A. Rhizinate™ and Rhizinate™ contain small amounts of fructose and mannitol to enhance the flavor of the chewable tablet. These natural sugars are derived from plant sources. Rhizinate is also available in a fructose-free formula.

  • A. The glycine is derived from glacial acetic acid.

  • A. An extract ratio is a measure of an herb's strength or concentration. The ratio shows how much of a raw ingredient is required to make an extract. For example, a 3:1 ratio of deglycyrrizinated licorice (DGL) (Glycyrrhiza glabra) root extract means that it takes 3 pounds of root to make 1 pound of the potent extract.

  • A. The active ingredients and the strength of the ingredients have not changed. However, we have made some minor enhancements to the flavor, which are reflected in the changes to the "other ingredients" listing. We have also taken steps to ensure that the highest quality DGL raw material is being used; thereby minimizing the amount of color variation. In the past, color variation of the DGL raw material has contributed to slight fluctuations in flavor. While the updated formula may have a slightly milder licorice flavor, it still retains the same potency and efficacy as the original raw material.
