A. Chromium is available as a supplement in several forms: chromium chloride, chromium nicotinate, and chromium picolinate. These are available as stand-alone supplements or in combination products. In much of the research on impaired glucose tolerance and type 2 diabetes, chromium picolinate is the form used. Research indicates that chromium picolinate has enhanced absorption and efficacy when compared to other forms of chromium.* A clinical trial conducted by Ohio State University Department of Nutrition demonstrated that chromium picolinate is better absorbed than other commercially available forms of chromium (chromium nicotinate and chromium chloride).* Additionally, an animal study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found chromium picolinate was better absorbed by the tissues (e.g. liver and muscle) than chromium nicotinate and chromium chloride.*

A. Yes, Glycemic Manager® can be safely taken by individuals with diabetes. Glycemic Manager® contains myricetin, which has been shown to enhance the activity of several cellular components which aid in the transport of glucose from the blood into cells, as well as nineteen other ingredients that promote healthy blood glucose metabolism.* However, we recommend that individuals consult with their licensed healthcare practitioner prior to use. We also strongly encourage that individuals monitor their blood glucose levels on a regular basis, especially during the first weeks of adding the supplement to their regimen.
-
A. Not necessarily. It may be possible for certain individuals to discontinue use of Glycemic Manager® if he or she is able to reach their goal levels. If an individual is able to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle changes, such as daily exercise and healthy eating, their healthcare practitioner can then determine whether or not they can decrease their frequency/dose of Glycemic Manager®.

A. This product has not been tested on pregnant women. Due to the delicate nature of the developing fetus, we would not recommend the use of Glycemic Manager® during pregnancy.
